If July feels like a whirlwind you’re not alone. August, nestled between the peak of winter and the first hints of spring.
Though the days remain chilly, there’s a subtle shift in the air, a hint of change that stirs the senses. The last month of winter presents the perfect opportunity to fully utilise your winter wardrobe before the season changes, mastering your layering skills in anticipation of spring.
This month, I took part in a 7-day Winter Warmer Style Challenge on Instagram, which encouraged me to step out of my cold weather comfort zone, and revisit winter styles I hadn’t yet worn. I hope it inspires you as well.
Additionally, be sure to explore KK’s Hit List, where you’ll find a little something for every budget.
Regardless of your approach, the August 2024 edition aims to ignite your creativity with Transitional Layering Ideas for the remaining days of winter.

Cardigans in 2024 Are Cool!
In June 2023, Vogue Australia characterised a cardigan as “equal parts preppy, cosy, grungy and quirky, oh and sexy”. A cardigan can take you anywhere!
That’s a fact I didn’t need Vogue to confirm; I’ve been appreciating this versatile layer for over twenty years.
Regardless of the season, you can always count on a cardigan to pull an outfit together, whether worn alone or layered for added style.
I like to think of myself as a cardigan connoisseur. I have a collection of ten distinct styles ranging from chunky to fitting, so it’s no surprise that I find myself frequently reaching for my trusty cardigans to elevate my dresses, denim and pant outfits this season.
While my wardrobe is racking up major cost-per-wear points, I’m always looking for the best transitional cardigans for you too! You can thank me later for finding these gems from Sezane Barry Cardigan in red $185, sizes XXS-XXL | Uniqlo Souffle Cardigan $49, sizes XXS-XXL $49.90 | The Fated Maddie Cardigan $119.95, sizes XS-XL | 4th & Reckless Darya Cardigan$100. sizes 06-14
07 Day Style Challenge
Wear What You Have Before Winter’s End
And challenge it was! Once the layering game and tuck in of bulk was sorted the outfit styling was made easier.
Why do we enjoy a style challenge? It’s an excellent opportunity to evaluate our wardrobe and understand why certain items have gone unworn. A personal style challenge encourages us to step outside our comfort zones, motivating us to explore various looks, colours, and textures we might not typically try.
Challenges also serve as a fun and engaging way to connect with others. By sharing our style stories on social media that fosters a sense of community and inspires one another to embark on your own style adventures. It opens a dialogue about fashion, self-expression, and the joy of making the most of what we already own.
