Hello and welcome to October,
As I type this month’s style update I can’t help but sense there’s a feeling of excitement in the air right now being served with a dash of hesitancy. The likes of a mixed cocktail you never ordered that’s arrived at your table, serving up natural excitement in reuniting with family, friends, co-workers and workout buddies at the gym stirred not shaken with a dash of hesitancy towards our new way of living.
A new season calls for change within your wardrobe, coats are swapped for lighter layers and trench coats, legs are exposed and just like that we’re suddenly sporting our favourite shades of blue and mint green again. This year though is different, with the end date for lockdown comes a new sense of reluctance that seems to stem out of fear. What will our social scene look like? Will we embrace our friends like we once did? I really do hope so, has the dress code changed and if so what am I expected to wear with these extra iso kilos gained having lived in loungewear months on end?
However the good news is A. e made it and B. everything is fixable! Together yet again we have managed to make it through another unpredictable season of social limitations and restrictions, YAY! And as we slowly come out of lockdown here in NSW my hope is that neighbouring Victoria will soon follow…
This month we look at how-to Build a Conscious Wardrobe, where to start and how mindful choices made will deliver everlasting results. We Sprint back to the salon (literally) with Your Guide to Sydney’s Best Facials. And cover 5 Of the Best Ways to Wear A Sundress, all complete with my KK’s top 3 finds for the month.
No matter what age or stage in life you are at while reading this, my hope for you is to walk away knowing its ok to not have everything figured out right now. Slow and steady wins in life always!
Much Love & Virtual Hugs Always.

How To Start A Conscious Wardrobe
- Discover your style identity- Are you a minimalist, boho chic, classic/traditional?
- Asses what you have and what’s missing to complete the wardrobe.
- Adapt a less is more mind-set.
- Opt for quality over quantity with any new purchase.
- Press pause on fast fashion.
- Take care of what you have – use laundry bags to separate delicate clothes, dry clean silks, wool coats to keep them looking new.
- Support Ethical Affordable Locally Made Brands.
Personal style is not a race to how fast you should have an item, but similar to a slow and steady evolving door that reflects who you are in the current times, how you want to be seen and the way you live. Once your wardrobe has evolved, feels in line with the message you would like to project to the world, in your life and career you can begin to enjoy the long term cost per wear effects of having built a conscious wardrobe, saving you time and $$.
Moral of this short story – slow down, shop smart, but most of all take time to swap out clothes as you need to. Buying only what you love according to your budget.
If you would like to learn more on how my wardrobe styling service can help you begin the process of starting a conscious wardrobe, schedule a 15 minute complimentary consultation here to discuss where you’re at right now, and if this is something that could work for you.
P.S conscious wardrobes are not necessarily suited to all people and lifestyles.
